Water-based expansive fireproof coating expands and foams when exposed to fire, forming a dense and uniform fireproof and heat-insulating layer, with remarkable fireproof and heat-insulating effects. At the same time, this coating has excellent physical and chemical properties, drying quickly, resistant to moisture, acid and alkali, and water-resistant. The original color of this coating is white, and the coating thickness is extremely thin, so its decorative performance is much better than that of traditional thick-coated and thin-coated fireproof coatings. It can also be mixed into various other colors as needed. This coating can be widely used for the fireproof protection of steel structures with high decoration requirements in ships, industrial plants, sports venues, airport terminals, high-rise buildings, etc.; it is also suitable for the fireproof protection of wood, fiberboard, plastic, cables, etc., which are flammable substrates in facilities with high requirements such as ships, underground projects, power plants, and machine rooms. In addition, water-based expansive fireproof coating not only can increase the fire resistance limit of thick-type fireproof coatings, tunnel fireproof coatings, wooden fireproof doors and fireproof safes, but also can improve the decorative effect of these components and accessories.

  • 1. High fire resistance limit. This coating has a much higher fire resistance limit than traditional expansive fireproof coatings.
  • 2. Good water resistance. Traditional water-based expansive fireproof coatings generally do not have good water resistance.
  • 3. The coating is not prone to cracking. When the fireproof coating is applied thickly, cracking of the coating is a global problem. However, the coating we have researched does not have this problem.
  • 4. Short curing period. The curing period of traditional fireproof coatings is generally around 60 days, while the curing period of this fireproof coating is usually within a few days, significantly reducing the curing cycle of the coating.
  • 5. Safe and environmentally friendly. This coating uses water as the solvent, with less organic volatile substances, and has a low environmental impact. It overcomes the shortcomings of oil-based fireproof coatings, such as being flammable, explosive, toxic, and unsafe during transportation, storage, and use. It is conducive to environmental protection and the health and safety of production and construction personnel.
  • 6. Corrosion prevention. The coating already contains anti-corrosion materials, which can slow down the corrosion of steel structures by salt, water, etc.

USAGE METHOD

 

  • 1. Before construction, the steel structure should be treated for rust removal and rust prevention as required, and the dust and oil stains on its surface should be removed.
  • 2. Before applying the coating, it should be thoroughly mixed evenly. If it is too thick, it can be diluted with an appropriate amount of tap water.
  • 3. The construction should be carried out at a temperature above 4℃. Both manual brushing and mechanical spraying methods are acceptable. The thickness of each coat should not exceed 0.3mm. Each coat uses approximately 400 grams per square meter. Apply 10 to 20 coats until the coating is dry to the touch. Then, proceed to the next coat until the specified thickness is reached.

Notes for Attention

Expansive steel structure fireproof coating is a water-based paint. Construction should not be carried out when there is condensation on the surface of the components or when the air humidity exceeds 90%. This paint is for indoor use. If the steel structure in an outdoor environment needs to be protected using this type of paint, a special protective fabric treatment must be applied to the coating surface.
