Non-expanding fireproof coating for steel structures
Product Description
Non-expanding steel structure fireproof coating is suitable for spraying on the surface of steel structures, forming a layer of heat insulation and fire protection layer, which protects the steel structure from fire by providing insulation. The thick type fireproof coating mainly consists of inorganic heat insulation materials, is non-toxic and odorless, and has the characteristics of convenient and fast construction, strong coating adhesion, high mechanical strength, long fire resistance time, stable and reliable fire resistance performance, and the ability to withstand intense impact from high-temperature flames such as hydrocarbons. The thickness of the thick coating is 8-50mm. The coating does not foam when heated and relies on its lower thermal conductivity to prolong the temperature rise of the steel structure and play a role in fire protection.

applied range
Non-expanding steel structure fireproof coating is not only suitable for the fire protection of various load-bearing steel structures in various types of buildings such as high-rise buildings, petroleum, chemical, power, metallurgy, and light industry, but also applicable to some steel structures with fire hazards caused by hydrocarbon chemicals (such as oil, solvents, etc.), such as fire protection for petroleum engineering, car garages, oil drilling platforms, and support frames of oil storage facilities, etc.
Technical indicators
The state in the container becomes a uniform and thick liquid after being stirred, without any lumps.
Drying time (surface dry): 16 hours
Initial drying crack resistance: no cracks
Bonding strength: 0.11 MPa
Compressive strength: 0.81 MPa
Dry density: 561 kg/m³
- Resistance to heat exposure: no delamination, peeling, hollowing or cracking on the coating after 720 hours of exposure. It meets the additional fire resistance requirements.
- Resistance to wet heat: no delamination or peeling after 504 hours of exposure. It meets the additional fire resistance requirements.
- Resistance to freeze-thaw cycles: no cracks, peeling or blistering after 15 cycles. It meets the additional fire resistance requirements.
- Resistance to acid: no delamination, peeling or cracking after 360 hours. It meets the additional fire resistance requirements.
- Resistance to alkali: no delamination, peeling or cracking after 360 hours. It meets the additional fire resistance requirements.
- Resistance to salt spray corrosion: no blistering, obvious deterioration or softening after 30 cycles. It meets the additional fire resistance requirements.
- The actual measured fire resistance coating thickness is 23 mm, and the span of the steel beam is 5400 mm. When the fire resistance test lasts for 180 minutes, the large deflection of the steel beam is 21 mm, and it does not lose its bearing capacity. The fire resistance limit is greater than 3.0 hours.

Construction Method
(I) Pre-construction Preparation
1. Before spraying, remove any adhering substances, impurities, and dust from the steel structure surface.
2. For steel structure components with rust, perform rust removal treatment and apply anti-rust paint (selecting anti-rust paint with strong adhesion). Do not spray until the paint is dry.
3. The construction environment temperature should be above 3℃.
(II) Spraying Method
1. The mixing of the coating should be carried out strictly in accordance with the requirements, and the components should be packaged according to the requirements. First, put the liquid material into the mixer for 3-5 minutes, then add the powder material and mix until the appropriate consistency is achieved.
2. Use spraying equipment for construction, such as spraying machines, air compressors, material buckets, etc.; application tools such as mortar mixers, tools for plastering, trowels, material buckets, etc. During spraying construction, the thickness of each coating layer should be 2-8mm, and the construction interval should be 8 hours. The construction interval should be appropriately adjusted when the environmental temperature and humidity are different. During the coating construction period and 24 hours after construction, the environmental temperature should not be lower than 4℃ to prevent frost damage; in dry and hot conditions, it is advisable to create necessary maintenance conditions to prevent the coating from losing water too quickly. Local repairs can be made by hand application.
Notes for Attention
- 1. The main material of the outdoor thick-type steel structure fireproof coating is packaged in low-plastic composite bags lined with plastic bags, while the auxiliary materials are packaged in drums. The storage and transportation temperature should be within 3 - 40℃. It is not allowed to store outdoors or expose to the sun.
- 2. The sprayed coating should be protected from rain.
- 3. The effective storage period of the product is 6 months.
