Water-based epoxy floor paint
Water-based epoxy floor paint is an environmentally friendly two-component floor coating material that uses water as the diluent and dispersion medium. It is composed of water-based epoxy resin, water-based curing agent, pigments and fillers, as well as additives. It combines the high strength of traditional epoxy with the low VOC and high safety of the water-based system.
Water-based epoxy floor paint is a substitute flooring material developed in response to stricter environmental regulations and upgraded health requirements. It addresses the shortcomings of traditional solvent-based epoxy floor paint, such as strong volatility, flammability, large construction odor, and poor adaptability to damp substrates. It has become the mainstream choice for sensitive areas such as hospitals, food processing plants, and underground garages.
Core composition and principle
- Basic components: Water-based epoxy resin (dispersed in water in the form of particles/droplets) + water-based epoxy curing agent + functional pigments (such as special minerals) + additives;
- Film formation mechanism: It belongs to a multiphase dispersion system, non-homogeneous curing - during the process of water evaporation, the resin and curing agent particles mutually penetrate, diffuse and cross-link, ultimately forming a network structure coating;
- Key differences: Different from the "molecular-level homogeneous reaction" of solvent-based epoxy, its curing degree is directly affected by particle size, compatibility of the two phases, and the degree of uniform mixing.
